Gum Grafting |
|
Gum Grafting is a dental treatment procedure used to cure excessive gum recession.
When gums around a tooth recede the natural defense against both bacterial penetration
and trauma is lost. Modifying personal dental care practices can control recession
to a certain extent, helping to retain some healthy gingiva to protect the teeth.
When the recession is deep, often causing root sensitivity to hot and cold foods
as well as an unsightly appearance to the gums and teeth, we recommend Gum Grafting.
This is a treatment process where healthy gum or tissue from another part of the
mouth is taken and sutured into the affected area.
