Wisdom Tooth Extractions |

Third molars are commonly known as Wisdom teeth, it is the last teeth to erupt in your mouth. The eruption occurs between the ages of 17 and 25 and usually causes no problems. The problem starts when there is not enough space for the tooth to erupt at the back of the mouth. Impacted wisdom teeth can cause severe pain, swelling, infection or damage to the teeth next to them. Wisdom teeth extraction procedure is recommended in such cases. The surgical removal (extraction) of one or more wisdom teeth from the back of the mouth can relieve these problems. Before removing a wisdom tooth, our dentist will give you a local anesthetic to numb the area where the tooth will be removed. After the tooth is removed, you may need stitches and a dose of antibiotics. Our dentists will advice whether extraction is required after a thorough check-up including X-ray imaging. And in some case impacted wisdom teeth does not causing problems, and there is no need to have them removed.
